Yemeni Yedid Nefesh

"Yedid Nefesh" ("Beloved of my Soul")... by Binyamin Buzaglo and an entire "orchestra" of Morrocan Jewish musical instruments and styles. Buzaglo sings a Moroccan song written by Rabbi Eliezer Azikri, a Sephardic Morrocan Jew, about 500 years ago. The name of the musical style is Andalus, which derives from Andalusia, a large region in southern Spain where Jews lived from the time of the 2nd Temple and they brought the music with them from Jerusalem and took it with them to Morroco after the 1492 Jewish Explusion from Spain. Nevertheless, it has retained the same name (Andalus) due to it being there for 1,500 years.
