In this multiple award winning photograph taken on February 1st, 2006 during the Amona "bloodbath" struggle between mostly Israeli youth and violent black-clothed "Yassam" riot police. I was there - my ribs were broken. But that does not compare to 250 children in the hospital, many bleeding from skull baton beatings and even teenage girls with bloody noses. Here is a picture that shows the bloodless side of the struggle, with the faith of one loyal Jewish woman against an entire army of riot forces. We lost the battle for the 9 houses that were destroyed later in same day - but what this one woman represents - will never die - and in the end claim victory over both the arabs and the insane leaders in the Knesset. It is unclear which poses a greater threat to the future survival of the modern State of Israel.
