The Love for Israel Relief Fund is a non-profit humanitarian organization working in cooperation with Israeli leaders across the political and social spectrum to help young Israelis in need. We exist to build direct relations between Israeli leaders and supporters of Israel around the world to help at-risk Israeli babies, children, youth and young adults. Background: 350,000 Israeli children live at risk of abuse and neglect according to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. In 2006, over 2,400 of these precious little ones needed emergency room treatment due to abuse and neglect. For every bed in an adoptive or foster home in Israel, 16 children live in potentially life-threatening situations. Since the need is so great, the Love for Israel Relief Fund opens the doors for Israel's supporters around the world to participate directly as partners in our projects. A totally amazing Hebrew news report of woman who gave birth in a specialized tractor ambulance that is run by MDA in the Old City of Jerusalem. The woman gave birth in the specialized ambulance near Damascus Gate (Sha'ar Shechem). This video is from a program called "Once in a Lifetime", and was aired on Israeli prime time TV. The ambulance crew is based out of the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem, and covers the entire Old City - treating patients regardless of race, religion, gender or any other criteria. They are volunteers of MDA and United Hatzalah of Israel - www.israelrescue.org - It pays to watch the video even if you don't understand Hebrew - it has cool shots of the ambulance driving up and down steps - probably the only legal ambulance in the world that actually transports patients that can do this.

MASHAV – Israel's Center for International Cooperation - Israel's official overseas development cooperation was launched in 1958 with the aim of sharing with the rest of the developing world the know-how and technologies which provided the basis for Israel’s own rapid development. MASHAV, the Hebrew acronym for the Center for International Cooperation, was established as a division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. What started as a modest program focused on grassroots-level human capacity building at a time when Israel itself was still very much a developing country, has blossomed into an extensive program of cooperation throughout the developing world with the aim of promoting sustainable development and social equity. Since 1958, MASHAV – the Center for International Cooperation of the Foreign Ministry of Israel has trained almost 200,000 course participants from approximately 140 countries in Israel and abroad and has developed dozens of demonstration projects worldwide in fields of Israeli expertise. Over the years, MASHAV has consistently made its priority the aims of poverty alleviation, provision of food security, empowerment of women and upgrade of basic health and education services, putting Israel's own creative solutions at the disposal of the developing world.
